BRAND IDENTITY

BUDDHIST VIHARA

The breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site, Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur, is located Bangladesh, India. This vihara is among the best-known vihara and is one the most important archaeological sites in the country.

Design a logo and brand identity for the popular vihara. Take as many influences from the physical location as possible to make a connection to the international audience. The brand identity contains: logo, map, infographic, museum layout, and wearable items.

Understanding the balance between the religious nature of the vihara and wanting to attract tourist to this beautiful site was essential to completing a wealthy design.

I grew inspiration from the geometric features of the vihara awhile also taking into account colors from the site such as the browns, greens, and yellows. Being a religious site, I decided on an identity that is sophisticated and clear. The inside of the museum was kept clean in respect of its religious nature along with the wearable items.

I decided on a square ratio for both the infographic and map as an inspiration from the vihara’s square shape. Dealing with shape and space was the most challenging task because of the various lines, but ultimately came together without creating a crowded environment.
