SPECIAL PROJECT

NWSRA bus wraps

Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) is an organization that provides recreational opportunities to adults and children with disabilities. NWSRA provides accessible transportation for participants to attend programs, athletic games, more. NWSRA has a fleet of 20+ buses that drive around the greater northwest Chicago suburbs.

The goal is to create a consistent design for all NWSRA buses. The wraps on the buses have to be clean, clear, and stand out amongst the crowd of traffic.

HOW DO YOU GRAB THE ATTENTION OF A GREATER AUDIENCE?

It was evident that the buses had to stand out and represent the NWSRA brand clearly. NWSRA’s bright purple is what the agency is known for and I believe it would be an excellent choice to use for the majority of the design for it to stand out.

I knew two significant factors would also play a huge role in the design: NWSRA participants and NWSRA’s slogan “Celebrate Ability”. Each bus has the same template with the exception of the photo that is different on every bus. It is important to include details to a design to relate to NWSRA so people that aren’t familiar with the agency can have a quick understanding of the agency and look into NWSRA further for more information.

With this in mind, I also included the URL and a QR code of the NWSRA website on the side of the bus. Bystanders can then quickly visit the website to learn more.
