
BRAND IDENTITY
CALEDONIA CONSERVANCY
Caledonia Conservancy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve land for the future in southwestern Wisconsin. The conservancy holds land that is used for public use with walking and horse trails.
The objective is to develop a clean map that displays the walking and horse trails, amenities, and rules. The audience ranges from elders that live in the area to young kids that visit the land for educational trips.



I first began with understanding that this map had to be precise and clean. My client provided me with a rough sketch of the map but I ensured them an aerial photograph would provide a more accurate map. Detail was key because the trails were hard to make out and collided together at times. Keeping in mind that this map would be viewed by people of all ages, I stuck with clear icons of the amenities including signs, kiosks, and benches. I also decided on a simple tri-fold that I believe would be universally handled well.
I wanted to attract PEOPLE OF all ages, so I decided on a design that would catch a child’s eye but not turn a senior away.
