Sockathon is a novelty sock fundraising campaign for Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF), an organization that raises funds to provide recreational opportunities to adults and children with disabilities.

The goal is to develop a social media campaign for the Sockathon fundraiser. Create a winsome fundraising campaign to encourage people to buy socks for a great cause!

 
 

Socks are fun! The socks on sale have a variety of exciting designs from flying pig socks to donut socks! I wanted to highlight all the socks that were available because there is a sock made for just about everyone-from coffee lovers to mathematicians! I knew I wanted to include bright colors that would attract a witty target audience.

I ran a “Rock Your Socks Contest” where people had a chance to win a pair of socks of their choice if they showed us their exciting sock collection. This allowed us to gain attention to our social media platforms. I also ran #SockFact and “Sock News” posts that described some sock facts and news- a way to engage our audience.

Finally, I put together a short video that emphasized the intent behind the campaign- purchasing novelty socks for a good cause. Quick, thrilling, and full of socks!
